Character Name: Princess Donut
Series: Dungeon Crawler Carl
Age: Technically Donut is only four years old, but she's also a cat. Cats are considered full-grown at the age of two. Additionally in her canon, children aren't allowed in the dungeon (and will be teleported out if they show up) and this applies to intelligent animals as well.
From When?: Between Level 6 and 7 of the Dungeon Crawl (end of Book Five)

Warden Justification: Donut on the surface is a vain, spoiled princess. But this is (mostly) an act. She is extremely loyal and gets attached to people very easily. While she plays up the perfect princess cat attitude, she drops it immediately if she's in very real danger of being left behind, and knows what it's like to be afraid of abandonment. She's ride-or-die for any inmate assigned to her, having been at the mercy of an AI herself and trapped in a dungeon crawl for the entertainment of others. Much of her caterwauling is an act that she'll keep up for the sake of appearances (the corporation is always watching) but in private she's a lot more mellow and less 'on', and can teach inmates how to mask themselves so that their vulnerabilities aren't set upon by greater forces.

She's a mother figure to her pet velociraptor Mongo (who she adores and has thrown herself in the path of danger for) and would likely treat her inmate the same way. She's hardworking and self-motivated, shockingly patient for someone so apparently high-maintenance, and can attack a problem from multiple angles if one way isn't working. She's extremely good at working a crowd and getting people on her side, and has proven to be excellent at using humor to deescalate a situation. Her human Carl is a demolitions expert with a tendency to blow things up, so Donut will occasionally have to be the voice of reason between the two of them and has talked Carl down from some of his more insane plans in the past. Donut is extremely intelligent and can manipulate with the best of them when she's in an unfavorable position, and will use these talents to make herself (or her inmate) a champion.

Item: Her tiara

Abilities/Powers: Donut is from a LitRPG where she levels up and gains spells in accordance with her experience with killing mobs in a dungeon crawl. Her race is Cat and her class is Former Child Actor, which allows her to specialize in many sub-classes.

She is a bit of a glass cannon, in that she has some extremely powerful spells but a very low constitution, meaning that she's very easy to kill and normally has to be protected by bigger, badder fighters when she launches her spells.

She has two general 'sets' of abilities: spells and skills. Spells cost mana, skills do not, but may have their own limitations (for example, she can only enact her Cockroach Skill once every few days). Many of these are dungeon-specific (having access to a minimap where she can pinpoint friendly people) so these are crossed out and not applicable. The ones that need more explanation are written out.

For the Barge: What I'd like to do is cap all her abilities. She won't lose them, but she won't have the ability to train them to higher levels, essentially frozen in place. Most of her skillset lies in things that are innate to being a cat (back claw, slash attack, night vision) or to avoid a conflict (Dodge, puddlejumper, cockroach). For her Charm-based skills, how I'd like this to play in-game is that she can't use it on any player characters without explicit opt-in permission. However, in port, she can freely use it on NPCs, mainly to get drinks and attention. Donut has a few fire-related spells that could do real damage to the ship, but she's intelligent enough not to use them in enclosed spaces. I'm okay with one or any of these being restricted. I am listing them all here as a completionist, but canonically and on the Barge she tends to use these sparingly (as in, if she is being attacked and needs to defend herself).

Donut has canonical access to an unlimited inventory but I would like that frozen as well. Ideally the only thing she should have access to are mana potions, and only so she has a cap and doesn't go rocketing missiles at dogs in port without end.

Wardening Strategies and Philosophies:

Donut will think of the Barge as a whole sidequest or a cheat for crawlers like her: something that is also being televised but a kind of cross-over show. She will view the Admiral as a kinder AI than the one currently imprisoning her and will do her best to charm him. She understands her role as a warden will be to assist an inmate in graduating, and will think of herself as a kind of game guide like her own Mordecai. Inmates will be treated like people similarly trapped: she will do her best to charm them or win them over, ride on their shoulders, protect them from harm and start treating them like her kittens. There may be times where she will demand to sleep near or on them for safety reasons. When they misbehave she will scold them, bap them with her paw and do her best to instruct them on everything from moral and ethical rights of all cats to how to sing karaoke. She is a very involved mother and wants her babies to succeed and grow up strong like their big brother Mongo.

Donut is impulsive, which comes with being a cat. She often does things without thinking of the broader repercussions or acts on instinct, like putting on cursed jewelry or accepting deals with faceless entities. This has saved her life on multiple occasions but is a bit of a 50/50 when it comes to long-term consequences. She has a pathological need to claim things. She puts her name wherever she can find it: she will not have a Friends filter, and instead have a "Royal Court of Princess Donut" filter and add everyone remotely friendly to it. She adores fame and stardom and seeks it out, but allows herself to be pulled back when reminded of more important things like friendship and survival. She will suggest hair and make-up tips.

Donut has teamed up with many different people before the Barge and has made it work with most of them. She's turned into quite an empathetic listener and likes to ask people questions about themselves, but also likes people who are quieter because she doesn't need to be 'on' around them. Her major exception are dogs, dog-friendly people, and that likely extends to werewolves. She will not be happy if she is paired with someone who likes dogs above cats and isn't above complaining to the Admiral for a change.

Deal: Donut wants to rid the universe of cocker spaniels to help save her friends from death: her deal is to get her and Carl to the final Level 18 so she can 'win' the dungeon and reclaim Earth.

History:
Before the dungeon, Donut was born as part of a litter of purebred pedigree Persians to her future owner Beatrice's mom. She came from a long line of award-winning show cats: her grandmother was a Best in Show champion named Princess Chonkalot, and her uncle is also her grandfather. She was given to Beatrice as a kitten, and considered her her entire world.

She spent her days going to (and winning) cat shows all around the country with Beatrice on weekends, being told what a princess she was, and watching TV (Lifetime, HGTV, the A-Team) when Beatrice and her boyfriend Carl went to work. Her favorite song is Wonderwall by Oasis but she enjoys most Top 40 Billboard pop hits and did a routine with Beatrice featuring music by Ke$ha. She adored curling up in Carl's lap while he played video games and would claw at him if he tried removing her. She despised his smoking habit because the smell got into her fur.

Donut's greatest enemy was a cocker spaniel named Angel owned by a neighbor in the same apartment building, who once destroyed a beloved toy of hers. She had a forbidden love in the form of Ferdinand (aka Gravy Boat), a big ginger tomcat who would come to the tree outside her window and try to seduce her.

A few months before the dungeon crawl, Donut was on Carl's lap pretending to sleep when the two of them overheard a conversation between Beatrice and her mom. Beatrice was going to trade Donut back to her mother in favor of a new kitten, so that Beatrice could continue to win medals and Donut, who was "past her prime", could breed and produce more show winning kittens. She pretends not to know about it, but has a terrible fear of being abandoned by her owners because of it.

When the dungeon crawl occurred and leveled all existing structures, Donut was at home alone with Carl, who had just broken up with Beatrice. She heard Ferdinand the cat meowing at her at 2am, took a bounding leap and escaped out the window while Carl was smoking. He ran outside to chase her before she froze to death and at that moment, aliens took over Earth. Their apartment building was smashed to the ground, as were any other buildings, cars, and man-made things taller than a light post. A stairway in the ground opened up before them, and Carl and Donut walked down into the bowels of the earth.

From that point on, they were considered Crawlers of the hit galaxy-wide game show, currently in the seasion Dungeon Crawl: Earth. One of about 14 million people total who entered Level 1 of the dungeon, Carl and Donut managed to survive long enough on this floor to feed Donut an Enhanced Pet Biscuit. This allowed her to speak, to grow significantly in intelligence and charisma, and to become their party of two's Official Leader. Initially acting like a spoiled brat, Donut's antics almost got Carl to abandon her: her pleas and genuine apology brought him back as she admitted she didn't want to be alone and knew he didn't want to be alone in this scary place either.

Carl and Donut from then on became an inseparable team. They frequently battle monsters, meet up with other Crawlers, kill way more than their fair share of mobs and kill in the ratings. While Carl is the far better hand-to-hand fighter, Donut is the charismatic leader on what's clearly a popularity contest of a television show: she entices sponsors, creates fan groups, coaches interviews, irritates her manager, trains her pet velociraptor, and turns into a brilliant PR person, probably from her whole life being one big popularity contest up til that point. Most Crawlers die on the first level and no one has made it past level 13 of 18: currently Donut and Carl just finished level 6 together. Their incentive to keep going is that if a Crawler reaches level 10, they officially become a citizen of the galaxy at large and can negotiate their release from the dungeon if they so choose. There is a top-ten ranking of all Crawlers, of which there are about 80,000 left on Earth at Floor 6.

Donut is ranked #3.

Special Notes: Donut may ask for her pet velociraptor Mongo. He is trained but tends to want to eat other pets. He listens to Donut's commands and comes with a little saddle that she can ride.
